"Cobwebs In My Mind"
Long ago, I came to find,
Words, like cobwebs in my mind.
Effortless, I watched to see,
Stories give themselves to me.
Couldn't stop them, never tried.
For they wouldn't stay inside.
Any time i held a pen,
Unprovoked, they'd start again.
And in awe, I'd often stare,
At the wit and wisdom there.
For, as far as I could see,
They were someones gift to me.
Hung, like cobwebs, in my mind,
Waiting there for me to find.

All these years, the words have flown,
From my pen, quite on their own.
Wrote them down, then threw them out,
For I've never had a doubt,
They weren't really mine to share,
Someone else had put them there.
Draped, like cobwebs, in my mind,
They would never be denied,
Haunted me, 'til with my pen,
They would write themselves again.
Though I still don't understand,
How the spinner takes my hand,
I, at last, can let you see,
What he spins inside of me.
